OFA – 9 free online workshops

In response to the increasing demand and interest in selling local, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture has launched the Cultivating Local workshop series offering 9 free online workshops to help new and experienced farmers looking to learn more about the opportunities to sell direct to consumers in Ontario.  You do not need to be an OFA member to attend these workshops.

  3. Selling at Farmers’ Markets December 5
  4. Selling to Restaurants and Institutions December 12
  5. Selling Online and Leveraging Social Media Platforms January 9
  6. Labeling and Attributes: Organic, Free-Range, Gluten-Free, and more January 16
  7. Exploring Agritourism Opportunities January 30
  8. Selling Local in Rural and Remote Ontario February 13
  9. Beyond Food: Opportunities in Textiles, Ornamental Horticulture and More February 27

PARO Cluster Innovation Tables (CIT)

PARO is organisation a series of cluster innovation tables (CIT) to help women-owned companies in the consumer-packaged goods space scale. CITs provide space for women entrepreneurs to discuss obstacles to business growth, while community leaders and advisors talk about collective resources and solutions available.  Important to this process is developing collaborative strategies including potential policy, program and protocol alternatives that will work to make positive system change and increased gender equity.

The events are free and virtual.

 

Do you Qualify?

 In order to qualify you need to:

  1. Be a woman owned, woman led business; where you have at least 51% ownership.
  2. Be at least 2 years in Business.
  3. Have the business registered in one of these provinces: BC, AB, SK, MB, ON, NS, NL
  4. Have $50,000 in sales for at least two consecutive years.
  5. be ready to take active steps to grow/scale your business [regionally, nationally, internationally].
  6. be in the consumer packaged good space
  7. Participants can only participate in ***one*** of the CITs.

  1. The CIT’s will be held from 13h00 to 15h00 EST
  2. Participation is voluntary and unpaid.
  3. Clients may participate in one session only
